Volunteer
We welcome volunteers all year around, no matter whether you can contribute short-term or long-term.
Dog rescue volunteers work with our animal rescue team to look after street dogs. Duties include cleaning and caring for them, especially if they are undergoing medical care. This is a hands-on job that requires a high degree of compassion and skill. You must have a moderate-to-high level of experience dealing with dogs that are sick and / or aggressive.
We are also looking for interns and volunteers who can make a difference with photo-essays, films as well as research.

Help make a difference and sign up to volunteer!
If you are located in / around Tiruvannamalai or Ranipokhari in India please just get in touch.

Spaying & Neutering
Spaying and neutering is a key to reduce the stray dog population in India. It reduces the number of unwanted pets that end up in animal shelters, too.
Spaying and neutering minimises also the conflict potential amongst dogs as well as between dogs and humans because it reduces or even eliminates behaviour associated with mating, such as roaming, barking, spraying, and fighting.
Spaying a female dog can cost from $36 to $120 (equals Rs. 3,000 to 10,000) while neutering a male dog can cost $24 to $96 (equals Rs. 2,000 to 8,000).

Food & Medicine
Whether you can spare a single donation or would like to contribute regularly and establish a long-term relationship, your tax-deductible donation helps a lot.
We spend money on animal food and shelter, but above all on medical care such as deworming, anti-parasites treatments (external / internal), wound care & rescues, vaccinations such as anti-rabies, -parvo, -distemper, various veterinarian services and related transportation.
Just $12 (equals ca. Rs 1,000) can cover one dog's food for an entire month, or a package of 10 Deworming Tablets.
1 Rabis vaccine for a dog costs $4 to $7 (Rs 350 - 550).

General Expenses
The most common expense for us are community outreach programs, communications and operational costs such as online platforms / web design, internet and phone services.
We also have travel and vehicle expenses when on rescue missions, feeding rounds, veterinary hospital visits or when helping find dogs a forever home.
Furthermore, legal fees (related to charitable donations etc) and professional fees for dog related consultations and trainings, if we need specialist advice, be it behaviour or health related.

Option: Fundraising
Whether you’d like to help us with a social media campaign or an event, we appreciate your fundraising support. facebook and instagram offer fundraiser platforms. Your fundraising helps us to maintain our shelters and communication platforms, to continue our activities as well as sponsor our outreach, education and abuse prevention initiatives.
Alternatively, have your children, son or daughter pick one of our programs or a dog to sponsor, as birthday or graduation gift:
$250 cover food for 20 dogs a month OR a life-saving surgery OR provides a home to a paralysed dog for 5 months.
