Typically, mild cases of dog poisoning have high recovery rates. In severe poisoning cases or cases where treatment was delayed the chance of recovery is low to zero And death is gruesome and painful.

"However, there is a still a long ways to go in truly developing a solid foundation for animal law in India. The law contains several provisions which provide leeway through which liability can be escaped." – animallaw.info, Overview of Animal Laws in India, 2020
If you find suspicious food in front of you house, openly displayed on leaves or loosely packed in thin polybags, please collect and dispose it safely.
You can also get it tested in a forensic laboratory, in government or privates labs.
If there are problems with any dogs, communication is key. If it is a pet, we can talk to its owner, if it is about straydogs we can call an animal charity or veterinarian practice. Alternatives to killing should always be explored.
