Spaying & Neutering strays

ree

Spaying and neutering is a key to reduce the stray dog population in India. It reduces the number of unwanted pets that end up in animal shelters, too.

Spaying and neutering minimises also the conflict potential amongst dogs as well as between dogs and humans because it reduces or even eliminates behaviour associated with mating, such as roaming, barking, spraying and fighting.

Spaying a female dog can cost from $36 to $120 (equals Rs. 3,000 to 10,000) while neutering a male dog can cost $24 to $96 (equals Rs. 2,000 to 8,000).
